A thick wall of saplings, tangled brush, and dense undergrowth - that's what we were working with going in. The kind of property where you can barely see 10 feet ahead of you. Vines creeping along the ground, low-hanging limbs everywhere, and zero usability. It looks like a lot, but this is exactly what we do.
We brought in our CAT 275XE track loader fitted with a forestry mulching head to work through the overgrowth. The mulcher grinds everything down - saplings, brush, small trees, deadfall - and leaves a clean layer of natural mulch right on the ground. No hauling debris off-site. No burning. Just clean, open ground left behind where there was nothing but chaos before.
What makes forestry mulching the right call for a job like this is the precision. We can knock out the unwanted stuff while keeping the mature trees you actually want to hold onto. The canopy stays intact, the root systems stay protected, and the soil doesn't get torn up the way it would with traditional clearing methods. It's a cleaner result with less damage to the land overall.
The difference is hard to overstate. Going from dense, impenetrable brush to open woodland floor - it opens the whole property up. Whether a landowner is looking to build, run trails, improve a hunting property, or just get control of land that's been let go for years, forestry mulching gets you there without the mess and headache of other approaches. That's the kind of result Legacy Landworks is built around delivering.
